From Glasgow, proceed South on the M74 heading for Carlisle, following the route for about 58 miles before turning off at junction 15. Here, you will find signs for Moffat, a peaceful spa town, on the A701, which takes approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes to reach. Consider staying at Warriston Lodge, a charming Victorian house accommodation that is also pet friendly. 

From Carlisle, head North on the M74 towards Glasgow and Edinburgh for around 45 miles. Then, turn off at Junction 15, following the signs for A701. This journey will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
